Seems like CoinHive & JseCoin get lumped in together. I don’t notice jseCoin ever making the CPU run too hot.

Even if I turn on the full “Hash Rate Acceleration” while self-mining, my browsers CPU usage never exceeds ~15%. I don’t even notice that I am mining while using my PC otherwise.

Hi so from our perspective the two platforms are quite different. Obviously browser-based mining systems are still fairly new so we do get lumped in together. Coinhive are mining Monero which is really quite competitive so they need to access as much CPU/power as possible. We are securing our own blockchain using only excess, left-over CPU in the browser. This means we can run the mining without affecting user experience or making the CPU run hot.

Seems like the anti-virus vendors and adblock vendors could use some education on jsecoin works so as not to block. CoinHive introduced a new domain called authedmine.com where you have to explicitly opt-in to start mining. Do you feel conflicted even though jsecoin is not a resource hog, opt-in may be the way to go in the future?
