I think it would be nice to detect user’s timezone to adapt the stats on the website, by querying your database with an adapted datetime. So at 23:59 in the UK we would have 2500 self miners, and at 23:59 in the US we would have 1789 for example.
What I would ideally like is a stat which includes exactly how many miners are online right now and maybe a max or total for the last 24hrs. We are currently moving the system across to websockets so once this is done it should be fairly straightforward to count the open sockets and then keep a 24hr tally.
Hoping to get the websockets update rolled out later this week as the code is done and we are just fighting with timeouts on the load balancer. Once this passes testing and security checks I’ll have a go at an update for the miner stats.
Hi James! Thank you for this fast answer. Yep clearly real time web sockets are the best option, I’m happy you’re working towards that!
I sent you a PM on facebook, you should check it pretty much RIGHT NOW, trust me, you want to check it right now 😉
Socket.IO is not the first improvement you need to make, one is way more urgent but I won’t discuss it on the forum. See you later 😉
