Yes it is because you are using a server to mine and we are only allowing browser clients. We don’t want to get in to a position where someone could potentially setup a server farm with lots of devices all mining on different accounts as this would ruin it for everyday users and would make the system no better than Bitcoin. i have a question similar to this…. There are different home PCs connected to same incoming router in our building, can other people also mine with their own PC having their own account ? since i am also mining connected to same router, cable guy gives multiple homes from single router … this shouldn’t be consider as server farm ?March 26, 2018 at 7:43 am #5738
Hi Wali, you can do this but the rewards will be split between all users on the same IP address. So whoever finds a hash first in the household will get the ticket to that blocks lottery. This is to make sure there is no benefit to setting up multiple devices for end users. The drawback is that some large organizations such as schools/offices may have genuine multiple users but I think this is a fair price to pay to prevent the potential for fraud for allowing multiple device from the same IP.
